FYI

An interesting piece of information from the Westworld magazine

“In the Chilcotin [rural/remote area located in the central interior of British Columbia, ed.], the federal government’s review of the Taseko Mine’s proposed destruction of Teztan Biny/Fish Lake – which is filled with rainbow trout – is ongoing. This, even though studies from both First Nations and non-natives show this mine is unacceptable on scientific, environmental, economic, legal, social, cultural and spiritual grounds. Interestingly, Taseko Lake Lodge, about 10km away from the proposed mine, was refused permission to expand in 2004 because of “specific Fist Nations issues and potential impact [on] fish habitat.””
